At My Clinic, a menopause consultation starts with a proper conversation about what’s actually changed for you. Not a checklist. Not a five-minute sense-check.
We talk through your symptoms, your history, what you’ve tried, and what’s making daily life harder. From there we work out what’s likely driving things, what’s worth investigating, and what your options look like. That might involve hormone therapy. It might not. It depends on you.
Perimenopause, menopause, and the years after each behave differently. Symptoms come and go, sometimes in unrelated-looking clusters: sleep, mood, joints, skin, weight, brain fog. They are connected, even when they don’t feel that way.
The transition is universal. The experience of it isn’t. Some women move through it with manageable disruption. Others find years of their life genuinely difficult. Either way, you don’t need to wait until things are unbearable to ask for support.
Seek support from a health professional if symptoms are significantly affecting your sleep, mood, daily function, or quality of life. You do not need to wait until symptoms become severe. If you are uncertain whether what you are experiencing is perimenopause, a consultation is the right first step — you do not need to arrive with a clear diagnosis.
Treatment options and prescribing decisions will always be determined by your clinician based on your individual needs.
