A My Clinic consultation takes these symptoms seriously, partly because so few other appointments do. We talk through what you’ve noticed, when it started, what you’ve already tried, and what’s bothering you most.
As oestrogen declines, your skin can make less collagen, hold less moisture, and react more to irritants. Hair follicles may spend less time in the active growth phase. Tear production and the moisture in tissues like the ear canal can both reduce. The symptoms feel unrelated, but they may share a common cause.
Where treatment is appropriate, hormonal or otherwise, we discuss the options. Where targeted skin or hair care will help more, we say so. Some symptoms also have non-hormonal causes worth checking, particularly thyroid issues and nutritional deficiencies. We look at the whole picture before recommending anything.
Seek support if skin changes are persistent, significantly itchy, or not responding to standard moisturising; if hair thinning is noticeable and affecting your confidence; if itchy ears are disturbing sleep or not improving with simple measures; if dry eyes are affecting vision or daily comfort; or if any of these symptoms are new or worsening during midlife and you have not been able to connect them to a clear cause.
Treatment options vary for every person. Any prescribing or management plan will be tailored to your individual needs and is always at the discretion of your Practitioner.
Skin, hair, and sensory changes can feel disconnected from each other — and from menopause. But when they arrive together in midlife, the hormonal link is worth exploring with someone who understands it.
A MyClinic Nurse Practitioner can review your symptoms, consider where you are in your hormonal journey, and talk through the options that may help. There is no one-size-fits-all answer, and your clinician will work with what is right for you.
Booking takes just a few minutes, and you can attend from wherever you are most comfortable. If you are not sure your symptoms fit, book a general health appointment — our clinicians are happy to help you make sense of what is going on.
Not sure if you symptons match the condition. Not a problem, one of our clinicians can discuss them with you and help narrow down possible causes and effective treatments. Just book a general health appointment.
