How to get a Medical Cerificate – fast, simple and from anywhere

Feeling too unwell to leave the house — but still need a medical certificate for work or study? You’re not alone. Getting a same-day GP appointment can be difficult at the best of times, let alone when you’re sick and just want to rest.

My Telehealth Clinic offers a straightforward way to access a medical certificate online. A short consultation with an AHPRA-registered Nurse Practitioner — typically available within 15 minutes during operating hours — and your certificate is emailed directly to you. No waiting rooms. No travel.

Why get your Medical Certificate via Telehealth?

When you’re unwell, the last thing you need is a trip to a medical centre — particularly when you might also be contagious. Telehealth lets you access a clinical consultation and receive your medical certificate without leaving the house, reducing the risk of spreading illness to others in waiting rooms.

During operating hours, My Telehealth Clinic can typically connect you with a Nurse Practitioner within 15 minutes*. Once your consultation is complete and a certificate is clinically appropriate, it is emailed to you directly — so you can notify your employer or institution promptly.

*Subject to availability. Average response time for follow-up consultations is within 2 hours. Requests submitted outside operating hours will be reviewed the following business day.

Issued by AHPRA-Registered Nurse Practitioners

Medical certificates from My Telehealth Clinic are issued by qualified, AHPRA-registered Nurse Practitioners. Nurse Practitioners are legally authorised to issue medical certificates under Australian law. Certificates are recognised for use with employers, universities, TAFEs, and other organisations across Australia — though individual workplace or institutional policies may vary.

1-2 medical certicate $19.95 or 3+ day medical certificate $29. No payment taken until your consultation is complete

When Would You Need a Telehealth Medical Certificate?

Telehealth is particularly useful for medical certificates when:

You’ve woken up too unwell to go to work or attend class and documentation quickly.

You are in a remote or regional area where a same-day GP appointment isn’t readily available

You have family or caring responsibilities that make travelling to a clinic impractical

You are immunocompromised or caring for someone vulnerable and want to avoid a waiting room

You need a certificate outside standard clinic hours — My Telehealth Clinic operates 8am–9pm weekdays and 8am–6pm weekends (AEST)

Telehealth is not appropriate for every situation. If your symptoms suggest a serious condition requiring physical examination, investigation, or emergency care, please seek in-person medical attention or call 000.
